Performs security functions such as fire-fighting, transporting, logging of activities, preparing reports and documents for record, security tours to monitor and prevent fire, theft, vandalism and disruptive activities

Monitors compliance with all applicable laws and regulations promulgated by the government or other third parties

Develops and maintains effective channels of communication within the department and with the corporate offices and employees to promote relations and interaction
*

Applies policies relative to safety, infection control and risk management
*


Coordinates and guides transport operations of air/ground missions from inception to conclusion
*


Coordinates appropriate crews and physicians to initiate the mission by obtaining current weather information, longitude and latitude on flights and determines the vehicle or type of aircraft that is best suited for the mission
*



Establishes and maintains contact with the originating party, physicians, crew and medical director to ensure they are aware of the preparations being made to complete the mission
*




Coordinates appropriate arrangements at destination and return points to ensure availability of proper personnel and an ambulance
*




Assists with the receiving hospital staff to expedite the patient's admission and prescheduled critical care of newborn flights to expedite the patient's admission and ensure availability of a bed and proper reception of the patient
*




Develops and maintains effective channels of communications within the department and across the medical center teams to promote relations and interaction
* Required Registration, Licensure or Certification
* Current driver's license
*
Current certification from the Wichita Police Department Security School within six months of employment
*
Firearm permit within six months of employment
*
Required Education or Experience
*

High school diploma or GED
* Preferred Education or Experience
* Previous private security or fire-fighting experience
*
Required Knowledge and Skills
*
Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively
* Knowledge of accepted radio communications, law enforcement, local ambulance services, regional geography, and medical terminology
*
Knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the organization
*
Knowledge of accepted fire, safety, and law enforcement standards and practices
